Operational Readiness Manager

About the Role: 

We are seeking a full-time “Operational Readiness Manager” to lead operational readiness and organizational transformation for a major urban rail modernization program. The ideal candidate will support the transition from conventional signal systems to a Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 
  • Develop and implement an operational readiness and transformation plan.
  • Identify gaps in workforce skills, processes, technology, and resources.
  • Oversee implementation activities and monitor key milestones.
  • Coordinate new workflows, systems, procedures, and operating practices.
  • Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to secure resources and align program goals.
  • Communicate readiness requirements to leadership, technical teams, and frontline staff.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, governance, and program requirements.
  • Document lessons learned and support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
 
  • 10+ years of experience in transit operations and maintenance, preferably within a large urban rail system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of CBTC systems and their operational implications.
  • Experience leading organizational change or operational transformation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across a large, complex organization.

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$180,000–$210,000 annually, commensurate with experience. 

Location: 
New York, NY 

This is a full-time, on-site position. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required based on project needs.
