Apply to Software Engineer
EnTech Engineering, PC is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction management firm devoted to delivering best-in-class design and construction support services for infrastructure and facility projects that strengthen communities nationwide. Based in New York City, our firm is made of engineers, technologists, environmental scientists, construction professionals, and consultants who are passionate about improving the infrastructure, buildings, and communities that surround us.
About the Role:
We're looking for a full-time Software Engineer to build and maintain the software that runs our work: the web platforms, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems behind our inspection, scheduling, and reporting operations on public construction and agency projects.
This is a builder's seat. You'll ship real product into platforms already in daily use, stand up new services from scratch, and shape the AI and cloud architecture that's becoming core to how we operate. You'll work across Python, React, and Next.js on sophisticated AWS setups, and you'll design and orchestrate the AI agents we use to accelerate our own engineering. You'll partner directly with our technical lead, own what you build end to end, and see it used quickly by real teams in the field and the office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
$92,000–$100,000 annually
Location:
New York, NY (This is a full-time position, on-site for the first six months and hybrid thereafter, with attendance at team and project meetings as needed)
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive equal opportunity for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or other legally protected status. EnTech Engineering participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm work authorization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build web applications with Python, React, and Next.js.
- Design and maintain REST APIs that power our internal platforms.
- Architect and operate sophisticated AWS infrastructure (ECS, Fargate, ECR, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and more).
- Orchestrate AI agents to automate coding and engineering workflows.
- Apply memory caching and prompt caching to keep agent systems fast and cost-efficient.
- Own features end to end, from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and cost of our cloud systems.
- Partner with the technical lead on architecture and tooling decisions.
- Communicate clearly with the team and document what you build.
- 2+ years building production web applications.
- Strong experience with Python and React / Next.js.
- Hands-on AWS experience — designing infrastructure, not just deploying to it.
- Experience with REST APIs.
- Working knowledge of agentic AI: agent orchestration, prompt caching, and memory caching.
- Curious, efficient, and highly flexible — excited to jump into new projects and pick up new tech.
- Comfortable owning projects and moving quickly with limited hand-holding.
- Strong communication skills and a high standard of attention to detail.
- Available to work on-site in NYC for the first six months.
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience in construction, AEC, or agency/government technology.
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CDK) and CI/CD.
- Experience designing multi-agent architectures and tool-calling frameworks.
