Construction Community Liaison (CCL) - Part Time

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Community Construction Liaison (CCL) to support us for the construction contract in Staten Island. This is a part-time position (up to 20 hours per week).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the distribution and posting of notices and flyers
  • Creating and updating a calendar of important community events
  • Maintaining field office records regarding community interaction
  • Participating in an orientation meeting 
  • Performing a general review of the plans and specifications for the construction contract
  • Preparing and distributing a monthly Construction Newsletter
  • Conducting a door-to-door survey of each commercial/residential property within the area of influence of water service interruption
  • Establishing a Community Notification Network
  • Establishing an email notification system for construction updates
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, construction management, urban planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in public relations, community outreach, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in or with the construction industry or government projects, is preferred but not required.
  • Preference for candidates that have worked as CCL for government construction projects in Staten Island
  • Excellent written and verbal communication The general ability to understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, public speaking, and possibly some technical knowledge related to construction.
  • Mandatory Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and  Adobe Acrobat
Additional Requirements include:
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to construction and public projects.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$90,000 - $104,000
